美国当地时间5月10日，2018 名人奖 (Luminary Award) 大奖颁布，耶鲁四位科学家获奖。

康涅狄格州的世界事务委员会宣布耶鲁大学癌症中心引领了世界癌症创新研究，凭借着在人类健康事业上的开创性工作，获得了今年的名人奖 (Luminary Award) 。
创新使康涅狄格州在世界健康领域占据一席之地。通过州内全球顶级教育机构、卫生保健、生物制药和相关研究机构的通力合作，目前一个健康生态系统在康涅狄格已经建立起来。这个系统赋能科学的探险精神并促进创新转化，因而孵育出了一批发达的、世界级医院网络。
在这些杰出的机构中，委员会荣幸的宣布：耶鲁癌症中心表现尤为突出，星光闪耀。其是美国顶级癌症研究中心和新英格兰南部地区唯一的NIH指定综合癌症中心。由于在健康领域的引领性的研究，持续的创新及独创性的治疗方法，耶鲁癌症中心引领着世界癌症研究。这些都是为了能给人类健康带来更多福祉。

此外，特别值得一提的是，陈列平教授刚刚在不久前还荣膺『全球华人科学家-CST卓越创新转化奖』，及『2018年度癌症关爱巨人』
自1990年代初至今，陈列平教授一直致力于免疫细胞共刺激、共抑制机理及肿瘤免疫治疗和免疫疾病治疗的相关研究。1992年，陈列平教授开拓性地发表了概念验证性研究的第一个证据，通过向肿瘤细胞引入B7-1，可增强肿瘤免疫，表明操纵B7-CD28／CTLA-4分子家族可用于肿瘤的免疫治疗。这项研究激发了针对这一途径治疗人类癌症的后续研究。此项成果启发了使用靶向CTLA-4抗体 [B7-CD28家族的一个分子] 治疗癌症的一系列后续研究，由此开创了肿瘤治疗的全新理念。陈列平教授的研究奠定了抗PD-1及PD-L1进行癌症治疗在基础研究与转化研究的理论基础。在基础研究中，他的实验室共同发现了PD-1/PD-L1通路并阐明其功能。这些发现包括发现B7-H1（PD-L1）分子；它的免疫抑制功能以及正常的生理功能。在转化研究中，他的研究确立了将PD-1/PD-L1通路作为癌症免疫治疗的目标。
关于名人奖 (Luminary Award)该奖每年一次，是康涅狄格州世界事务委员会的一个标志性的事件。这个奖颁发给全球的一个或多个人士或某个组织，以表彰他们做出的具有深远影响并使世界更美好的成就。
